The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has conducted a one-day training programme for Premier League Match Commissioners as part of preparations for the upcoming season.

The workshop, which took place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Association’s headquarters in Accra, was designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to ensure matches across the country are organized safely, fairly, and in line with regulations.

Commissioners from across Ghana attended the session, which combined lectures, case studies, and written assessments.

Opening the programme, Deputy General Secretary and National Teams Director Alex Asante commended participants for their service to the game and delivered a presentation on the roles and responsibilities of Match Commissioners in modern football administration.

Director of Competitions, Julius Ben Emunah, led participants through Ghana’s competitions framework and the Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration between Commissioners, referees, clubs, and security agencies to maintain integrity and security on matchdays.

General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo also addressed the gathering, delivering a lecture on the 2025 Premier League Regulations and urging Commissioners to strictly adhere to the laws governing Ghana’s elite competition. He officially closed the workshop at the end of the day.

The programme also featured practical sessions, with Commissioners participating in case studies and examinations to test their understanding of the material covered.
