The Ghana Football Association is set to roll out a minimum wage structure for Ghana Premier League players following approval by its Executive Council.
GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum confirmed the plan on Starr FM, describing it as a key step toward improving player welfare and boosting the league’s competitiveness.
The policy, set for presentation at Congress ahead of the 2025/26 season, will ensure clubs pay players a base salary ; a move aimed at standardising compensation and reducing player exodus.
The GFA hopes the measure will enhance professionalism, improve conditions, and help retain top talent in the local league.
