The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will dedicate two special days to offer thanks for the Black Stars’ qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Led by GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku and the Executive Council, the interfaith thanksgiving services will unite the football family, religious leaders, and supporters in a gesture of gratitude following Ghana’s fifth appearance on football’s biggest stage.
The first ceremony takes place on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Imam Malik Hamburg Mosque in Maamobi, Accra, beginning at 2:00 p.m., where Muslim members of the football community will gather for prayers.
A second service will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Christ the King Anglican Church in Sakumono at 3:00 p.m. to allow Christian members to also give thanks.
Attendees are encouraged to wear white attire, symbolizing purity, unity, and gratitude as the football fraternity celebrates this historic milestone.
Both events will be graced by the GFA President, members of the Executive Council, staff, and other stakeholders who will use the occasion to reflect on the journey to qualification and reaffirm their commitment to national unity through football.
