Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has called on Ghanaians to rally behind Black Stars head coach Otto Addo as the team gears up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Addo, who faced heavy criticism after Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), restored belief by leading the team to secure qualification for next year’s World Cup. Ghana finished top of Group I with 25 points, sealing their fifth appearance at the global showpiece to be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Despite calls from some quarters for his dismissal, Okraku reaffirmed his trust in the coach and stressed the need for national unity.
“In Otto Addo I trust. He is a proud Ghanaian, and we must support him to succeed,” he told Asempa FM.
The GFA President further appealed for calm and support to allow the technical team to prepare effectively for the tournament.
“The technical team need peace to work, and we must empower them to go to the World Cup to excel,” he added.
Ghana will discover their group-stage opponents for the 2026 FIFA World Cup when the draw is held on December 5.
