The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will convene its 32nd Ordinary Congress on Thursday, 20 August 2026, with the country’s football stakeholders set to review the past season and discuss priorities for the future of the game.

The annual statutory meeting will be held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, in line with Article 31(2) of the GFA Statutes.

The Congress is one of the key events on the GFA’s annual calendar and provides members with an opportunity to assess the association’s work over the previous football season. Delegates will consider the GFA’s programmes, administration and financial position as part of the full-day gathering.

A broad range of issues is expected to be discussed, including the organisation of competitions, football development, governance and strategic planning for the new season.

The GFA has formally informed its members of the date of the Congress. A full convocation is expected to be circulated before the meeting, setting out the issues to be considered by delegates.

That document will contain the Congress agenda, activity reports, financial statements and the auditors’ report. The papers will allow members to examine the association’s activities and financial performance in detail.

Representatives from clubs, technical officials and other members of Ghana’s football community are expected to attend. The meeting will also provide an opportunity for the GFA leadership to speak directly with members about ongoing projects and respond to concerns affecting football at different levels.

Ghanaian football continues to deal with challenges involving administration, infrastructure, development and finances. As a result, decisions made at the Congress could help shape the direction of the sport during the coming season.

The meeting will take place as the GFA looks to bring its members together to assess existing programmes and consider the issues facing football across the country. Delegates will be expected to participate in discussions covering both the association’s recent performance and its plans for the next phase of development.

The GFA has urged delegates to prepare properly ahead of the Congress and to take an active role in proceedings.

The 32nd Ordinary Congress will therefore serve as a forum for Ghana’s football stakeholders to review the previous season, examine current difficulties and agree on priorities for the future development of the game.
