The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is keenly monitoring the progress of Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro, a talented 20-year-old goalkeeper born in Amsterdam to Ghanaian parents.
With his impressive career trajectory, the GFA is considering a potential call-up to secure his commitment to the Ghana national team.
Owusu-Oduro has rapidly risen through the ranks of AZ Alkmaar’s academy, becoming the club’s first-choice goalkeeper this season.
His achievements include making his Eerste Divisie debut for Jong AZ and saving two penalties in a shootout to help AZ reach the final of the 2022-23 UEFA Youth League.
He also made his first-team debut for AZ in a UEFA Europa Conference League match against Legia Warsaw.
Although Owusu-Oduro has represented the Netherlands at the U-20 level, the GFA is eager to bring him into the Ghana national team fold, recognizing his immense potential and talent.
