Ghana Premier League clubs are set to receive at least GHC1 million each ahead of the new season, following a landmark broadcast deal involving the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the Government of Ghana, and Adesa Productions.
GFA President Kurt Okraku confirmed the development during the official launch of the partnership in Accra on Thursday, July 31.
The initiative, backed by the Office of the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, aims to provide sustainable financial support to clubs through a newly structured funding model.
“Every Ghana Premier League club will receive one million cedis before the new season begins,” Okraku said.
“This is the minimum under our new partnership model. It’s not a grant, it’s a guaranteed commitment by the GFA, Adesa Productions, and the government.”
This new agreement also lays to rest speculation about the possible return of Chinese broadcaster StarTimes, who had previously held the media rights for the league.
Their deal ended after the 2023/24 season, with no consensus reached on a renewal.
The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League is scheduled to begin on the weekend of September 12.
