GFA rolls out 24-hour IT operations in line with national policy

The Ghana Football Association has introduced a 24-hour operational system within its Information Technology Department.

The move aligns with government’s 24-Hour Economy policy aimed at boosting productivity and national growth.

By adopting the round-the-clock model, the FA becomes the first sports body in the country to adjust its structure to fit the new national agenda.

The IT unit now operates in shifts to guarantee continuous technical support for clubs and football administrators.

IT Director Francis Adu says the new arrangement has already improved service delivery.

“The 24-hour system has been extremely helpful in enhancing efficiency, responsiveness and overall service delivery to our stakeholders,” Francis Adu told GFA Communications.

“We are now able to address technical issues in real time, support match operations seamlessly and ensure that our digital platforms remain fully functional at all times.”

The department, which is the FA’s largest by staff strength, manages player registration, competition systems and data services throughout the day and night.

Operations are coordinated from the upgraded Old PLB Block, now functioning as a central digital hub.

From this centre, the IT team provides real-time assistance to all ten Regional Football Associations and clubs nationwide.

The initiative forms part of the FA’s broader modernisation drive focused on efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction.

The national 24-Hour Economy policy was signed into law in February 2026 by President John Dramani Mahama.
