Chris Hughton has been appointed as the new head coach of the Black Stars, according to Member of Parliament of Ningo Prampram, Sam Nartey George.
The Ghana FA has been on a hunt for a new manager following the resignation of Otto Addo after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Communications Director of the country’s football governing body, Henry Asante Twum recently revealed that over 1000 coaches have applied for the vacant job.
However, Sam George in an interview on Joy Prime TV, accused the FA of given the former Brighton & Hove manager the job because they can control him.
“That job has been given to Chris Hughton already. They’ve given it to him because they want someone they can manipulate,” the outspoken legislator stated.
“Someone they can use for their business. Someone whose selections they can interfere with. Let’s not waste our time. People are using GFA to feed their families so let’s go and look for money to eat.”
Chris Hughton assumed the role of Technical Advisor of the Black Stars in February 2022 and has served as the conduit between the coaching staff and the federation.
The Ghana FA is expected to officially announce a new Black Stars head coach by the end of the month.
