Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku expressed his conviction that the newly implemented club licensing procedures will enhance the structural basis of club operations.
The fresh mandates introduced by CAF entail conditions such as the necessity for clubs to possess female teams before participating in African competitions.
To meet these criteria, all Ghana Premier League clubs have either established their own female teams, partnered with such teams, or incorporated youth teams.
During the launch of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, Kurt Okraku commended this initiative and its potential to enhance the quality of Ghanaian football.
“In our pursuit of on-field success, it is equally vital to ensure compliance with club licensing stipulations. The recently introduced CAF club licensing framework will contribute to reinforcing the foundation of club operations”
He emphasized the importance of adhering to club licensing requirements and highlighted the transformative impact it will have on club operations.
“The significance of these guidelines in setting benchmarks and promoting professionalism within our league cannot be understated. These measures aim to elevate standards in areas like infrastructure, administration, financial management, thereby benefiting both clubs and the broader football ecosystem.”
