The Serbian had turned down the offer of a new four-year contract after taking the Black Stars to the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Cup, but the GFA kept hanging onto hope.

Now they have finally given up and will meet on Monday to decide on a way forward. And key amongst the issues that the emergency committee will be dealing with will be whether to appoint an interim coach for the October 10th qualifier against Sudan in Accra.

Ghana Football Association president Kwasi Nyantekyie told KickOffGhana.com that nothing has been decided by the association in that regard, neither has the association made a decision on whether to go local or foreign for the new man.

What is clear though is the GFA’s bitter disappointment over Rajevac’s decision not to extend his stay with Ghana after his initial two-year contract ended in August this year.

The Serbian proved a hit with Ghana fans after taking over in August 2008 leading the Black Stars to the finals of the 2010 Nations Cup and the last eight of the World Cup.
