Ghana Football Association has tasked its National Juvenile Committee (NJC) with screening all players participating in national youth tournaments.
The move forms part of the FA’s “Power to the Youth” strategy aimed at strengthening grassroots football and developing young talent.
The decision was approved at the Executive Council meeting in January 2026, attended by all ten Regional FA chairmen.
Under the directive, the NJC will verify player eligibility, proper documentation and registration procedures in youth competitions across the country.
The committee, led by Chairman JoeSalam Abubakar, is expected to apply strict screening measures to promote fairness and transparency.
The process will also ensure that tournaments operate in line with GFA regulations and development policies.
The FA believes the new system will help identify genuine young talents while reducing irregularities in age-grade football.
The initiative is part of efforts to professionalise youth football and create a clear pathway from regional competitions to national teams and elite academies.
The FA says the step reinforces its commitment to building a strong foundation for the next generation of Ghanaian footballers.
