Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association Henry Asante Twum has revealed they are in talks with CAF to approve Baba Yara Stadium for international matches.
The edifice has been the country’s home ground before the recent selection of the Cape Coast Stadium.
The stadium’s current state is not suitable to host international assignments according to CAF.
The last time an approved game was played in Kumasi was the World Cup qualifier between the Black Stars and Nigeria.
“As we speak, the only approved venue in Ghana that can be used for CAF and FIFA-approved games is the Cape Coast Stadium”
“But we are trying as much as possible to convince CAF so they visit, inspect and approve the Baba Yara staduim in Kumasi so that it can be used for our international matches”
Ghana will engage in a doubleheader clash against Angola in March for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nation’s qualifiers.
