The Ghana Football Association’s 31st Ordinary Congress has approved an amendment to extend the presidency term limit from two to three terms.
General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo explained that the decision aligns with FIFA’s model. Under the revised Article 37.4, the president, vice presidents, and executive council members will serve four-year terms, beginning right after the congress that elects them and ending at the congress where their successors are chosen.
No one can serve as president for more than three terms, whether consecutive or not. The same three-term cap applies to vice presidents and other executive council members.
