Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member Nana Oduro Sarfo has criticized Sports Minister Kofi Adams for labeling some football club owners and managers as “clueless.”
Adams made the remark after a controversial match between Basake Holy Stars and Nations FC descended into chaos.
Sarfo defended the club owners on Adom TV saying, “I don’t think the Minister for Health will stand in public and criticise owners of private hospitals and tell them they are clueless. If the Minister for Sports [Kofi Adams] understands football, he wouldn’t have said some club owners are clueless.”
The incident that sparked the controversy involved disputed refereeing decisions and alleged assault on Nations FC’s owner and president.
Sarfo also took a swipe at the GFA, including himself, for not properly orienting Adams when he assumed office.
Adams’ comments have sparked backlash, with Sarfo’s response highlighting the need for greater understanding and respect between stakeholders in Ghanaian football.
