GFA Disciplinary Committee charges Legon Cities for assault on match officials

The Ghana Football Association Disciplinary Committee has charged Legon Cities FC player, Michael Ampadu and official Mr. Kwabena Asenso Onyina for attacking referee Charles Benle Bulu in their opener against Medeama SC.

The Royals did little to prevent their two men from assaulting the match official at the El Wak Stadium Stadium on Sunday which becomes a breach of Article 16(1)(c) and Article 16(2f) of the Disciplinary code.

In a statement by the FA, Ampadu was seen spotted assaulting the match official, “punching his mouth on the field of play.”

The statement reads; “Onyina were seen and captured attacking match official whiles on their way to the dressing room and also attempted to physically attack the referees.

Legon Cities’ supporters deflated the rear tyres of a vehicle belonging to Bulu  which has attraction a charge on the club.

They have, before, September 14, to respond to the charges ahead of a sitting by the Disciplinary Committee for a final verdict.
