The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has directed all elite clubs to observe a mandatory off-season break from June 9 to July 8, 2025.
This applies to clubs in the Ghana Premier League, Division One League, and Women’s Premier League.
The decision prioritizes player health and welfare, according to the GFA, which stated,
“The Ghana Football Association will always prioritise player health and welfare.”Pre-season training is scheduled to begin on or after July 9, 2025. The GFA reminded clubs and players that existing agreements remain valid during the break, and players need permission from their clubs to participate in matches.
Clubs and players must seek official clearance before staging or participating in friendly games or scouting tournaments.
The GFA emphasized the importance of compliance, advising all stakeholders to adhere to the directives.
