Ghana midfielder Abu Francis is recovering well after undergoing surgery in Japan, with Ghana Football Association Communications Director Henry Asante Twum confirming “excellent results” from the procedure.
The Toulouse midfielder suffered a double fracture during Ghana’s friendly against Japan, twisting awkwardly while attempting to block a shot early in the second half. He was rushed to Toyota Memorial Hospital, where the surgery was completed without complications.
Francis has since entered the acute phase of rehabilitation, responding positively to treatment and easing early concerns about the severity of the injury. He is expected to be discharged this weekend.
Asante Twum expressed gratitude to the Japanese medical team, the Black Stars medical staff led by Dr. Prince Pambo, and Toulouse FC’s doctors, emphasizing that the midfielder is on track for a strong comeback.
