President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, on Wednesday April 16, 2025, held a productive meeting with the leadership of the Intercity State Transport Corporation (STC) at the company’s headquarters in Accra.
The engagement focused on reviewing and enhancing the long-standing partnership between the two organisations.
The partnership, established in 2020, has played a critical role in supporting referees across the GFA’s flagship competitions. Over the past four seasons, Intercity STC has offered a 50% discount on transportation for referees, significantly easing their travel burden and ensuring safe, reliable movement across the country.
Wednesday’s meeting explored opportunities to further improve the collaboration and ensure it remains mutually beneficial. The discussions highlighted shared goals around efficiency, affordability and improvement of services.
President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku was joined by GFA’s Head of Business Development, Janice Odonkor, and Referees Manager, Alexander Kotey.

Representing Intercity STC were Managing Director Ligbi Alhassan, Deputy Managing Director for Technical and Operations, Eng. John Awuku, and Deputy Managing Director for Finance and Administration, Nuru Hamidan.
The partnership has enabled referees to travel in comfort aboard Intercity STC’s well-equipped coaches, which boast a reliable Wi-Fi connectivity.
