German supporters call for a boycott

During this 14th day of the Bundesliga, the supporters stood out in the stands. Several kops associated with German teams have unfurled banners to call for a boycott of the next edition of the World Cup which will take place in Qatar in just over two weeks (November 20 – December 18). As of Friday, during the meeting between Borussia M’gladbach and Stuttgart, a banner was held up with the writing on it: “Boycott Qatar 2022!” In the continuity of this first claim, several banners were again deployed this Saturday.

At Signal Iduna Park in particular, during the match between Dortmund and Bochum, the same text was displayed on a banner, in capital letters this time (“BOYCOTT QATAR 2022”). In Berlin where Hertha faced Bayern, another banner was displayed by German supporters. We could read on this one: “15,000 dead for 5,760 minutes of football! Shame on you !” This message should still be widely declined and broadcast in the many sports venues which will host Bundesliga matches this Sunday for the continuation of the 14th day of the German championship.
