Ghana’s Elvis Manu scored a hat-trick in Botev Plovdiv’s emphatic victory against Botev Vratsa on Saturday.
After Viktor Genev scored the first goal five minutes earlier, the seasoned attacker netted his first goal of the match to put the hosts up 2-0 inside 18 minutes.
Manu delivered another magnificent shot 13 minutes into the second half to make it 3-0 to the home team before Luiz Felipe scored an own goal a minute later. Manu completed his hat-trick seven minutes beyond the hour mark before being replaced later in the game.
The home team scored again late in the game to make the final score 6-0. In 13 appearances in the Bulgarian top flight, the 29-year-old Ghanaian attacker has seven goals and three assists.
In August 2022, Manu returned to Bulgaria, signing a two-year contract with Botev Plovdiv. Botev Plovdiv is currently 10th on the league table with 19 points. Botev Plovdiv will take on Arda in their next top flight game.
