Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President, George Afriyie, believes the Black Stars’ technical team will be highly motivated to avenge their recent setbacks against Comoros when the two sides meet in the final round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana will host Comoros on Sunday, October 12, at the Accra Sports Stadium in what is expected to be a crucial encounter for Group I.

The Black Stars have lost twice to the island nation in recent years; first at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon, and again in Moroni during Matchday 2 of the ongoing qualifying campaign.

“I am 100% sure that the technical team will go for revenge against Comoros,” Afriyie told Asempa FM.

He further commended the team’s progress under the current setup, adding, “I have seen improvement in the Black Stars.”

Ghana currently sits top of Group I with 22 points and will be aiming to seal qualification with victory in Accra. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
