Inducted last summer as the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain to replace Argentinian Mauricio Pochettino, Christophe Galtier gave his impressions of his first months spent on the sidelines of the capital club.

On July 5, Paris Saint-Germain communicated the identity of its new coach. To ensure the succession of the Argentinian Mauricio Pochettino, the club of the capital made the choice to turn to Christophe Galtier, defector of Nice. Preferred to Zinedine Zidane, or rather landed at the Parc des Princes since the 1998 world champion was not decided to take control of the team, the Marseillais was invited to a press conference to take stock of his first four months at the head of the reigning French champion.

“I am very happy to be here”

“Working here is exciting and exciting. There should be no downtime at a club like Paris Saint-Germain. Every day I am very happy to be there. I have a very serious group, with whom it is pleasant to work on a daily basis. I talk a lot with all the players. Every morning when I arrive, I take the time to enjoy my presence in Paris”described the former Lille coach at a press conference, two days before receiving Auxerre (15th day of Ligue 1).

The balance sheet pleads for the time being in favor of the 56-year-old manager. In 21 games played in all competitions, Kylian Mbappé’s partners have won 17 and conceded 4 draws, without suffering a single defeat. Winner of the Trophée des Champions, Paris Saint-Germain leads Ligue 1 with a five-point lead over Racing Club de Lens and has qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League, where it awaits a double confrontation against Bayern Munich which can allow Christophe Galtier to improve his balance sheet or on the contrary to attenuate it.
