On RMCChristophe Galtier recalled the role of Kylian Mbappé within Paris Saint-Germain, after discussing his management of his trio of stars on the airwaves.
Several times since the start of the season, small controversies have taken place around the behavior of the French striker at PSG. Lately, it’s a salary delay that has been a problem between Kylian Mbappé and the club. The French would not have appreciated this setback at all, which took place in September, to the point of evoking a departure.
According to Christophe Galtier, the 2018 world champion is not yet “bigger than the club”despite his sometimes rebellious attitude towards the leaders of the club in the French capital: “Is he above the club? It’s wrong. Kylian (Mbappé) has made a difficult decision to make. Obviously he is in love with PSG, but he had a very close eye on Real Madrid. Thank you for our Ligue 1, for the players, for me. He made a strong decision and he should be respected for it.”
This decision is the extension of Kylian Mbappé’s contract at PSG, until 2024, with an optional year. And a monstrous salary.
“Mbappé embodies the project” according to Galtier
If the Frenchman is therefore no bigger than the PSG institution, Kylian Mbappé is nevertheless an important element of the club, if not the most important: “He embodies the project. There can be no doubt about that. When I say he embodies the project, it’s not that he’s above the club. He is on the same level as all the other players, like Leo Messi who has an incredible career, who is the greatest player in the history of football. Kylian (Mbappé) is on the same level as Neymar.
On the pitch, Kylian Mbappé affirms his status, with many goals (19) and a few assists (5) in 20 games.
