Black Stars forward Jerry Afriyie has been honoured with the Odartey Lamptey Future Star Award at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards, held at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The 20-year-old, currently on loan from Al-Qadsiah, made a strong impression with two goals in seven league appearances for Spanish third-tier side CD Lugo.
Afriyie’s journey began with Thoughts FC in Ghana before he helped the U-20 team win gold at the 2023 African Games.
His remarkable rise continued with a Black Stars debut goal against Niger earlier this year.
He beat competition from Christiana Ashiaku of the Black Maidens and Salzburg’s Edmund Baidoo to win the award.
The Future Star Award celebrates young players who have shown exceptional promise over the past year.
Afriyie’s performances signal a bright future for both club and country.
