The Ghanaian striker who has signed a four-year deal with the famous Italian club told KickOffGhana.com he is delighted with the move which came on the back of his award winning performances for Ghana at the 2009 Fifa Under-20 World Cup in Egypt.
“I didn’t believe it when I was first told of the Milan interest,” he said. “It is a famous club and I didn’t think it would happen so soon. But now as a football this is where the real work begins. This is when I have to work harder than ever.”
Adiyiah will pitch up with Milan and knows he will have his work cut out trying to get regular football at the club.
But he is confident he can make it work. “Whether I take my chance depends on me. If I am not lazy and work hard I am confident I will do well.”
Before his Milan mission, Adiyiah is also keen to become a mainstay of Milovan Rajevac’s Black Stars with two major tournaments to play. He has been called up for the final qualifier against Mali in Kumasi on Sunday and a friendly against Angola in Luanda next Wednesday but is aware he will have to bide his time in a bid to become a regular.
“I am just happy to be here. There are many players ahead of me so I am not in a hurry. When I am picked though, I have no doubt I have what it takes to play well.”
