French club Marseille declare Ghana star Jordan Ayew surplus to requirements

Ghana striker Jordan Ayew has been declared surplus to requirements by French club Marseille which means he must look for a new club for the upcoming season.

According to the biggest French newspaper L’Equipe, in-coming Marseille coach Marcelo Bielsa says Ayew must look for a new club as they seek to rebuild for the future.

The Argentine coach says he will not be counting on the Ghana World Cup striker as he looks to bring in some players to improve on their unimpressive showing last term.

Ayew, son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele, spent last season with Sochaux was impressive while on loan at the relegated club but he will get some suitors.

His five goals in 17 appearances for Sochaux has enhanced his chances of getting a club in the French top-flight.

French club Lille as well as English sides Stoke and West Brom and German club Schalke have all been reportedly keen on signing the Ghana star.
