Former Asante Kotoko striker Frank Etouga Mbella has backed the club to defend the Ghana Premier League title.
The Cameroonian forward was the club’s top scorer last season as his 21 goals in 30 appearances inspired the Kumasi-based giants to a record 24th Premier League trophy.
The Porcupine Warriors have not been as consistent in the ongoing campaign.
Kotoko are currently third on the standings with 27 points having won two, lost two and drawn one in their last five matches.
Despite their inconsistencies, Franck Mbella insists the club have what it takes to retain the trophy at the end of the season.
“I’ve been following the team and the performance. They have a good group. I sincerely think they will win the Ghana Premier League again,” he told Ghanasportspage.
Etouga left Kotoko in September last year after signing a three-year contract with Egyptian side Al Masry for deal reported to be in the region of 400,000 USD.
