Fosu Royals, Savannah Ladies grab successive wins in Women’s League playoffs

Fosu Royal Ladies and Kumasi Sports Academy picked their second win in the women zonal championship whilst Savannah Ladies down Kunkua Ladies 3:1.

Kumasi Sports Academy came from behind to defeat Nasara Ladies 2:1 at the Bantama Astro Turf in Kumasi.

A beautiful team play from Nasara Ladies in the early hours of the game saw Madina Yenaba break the deadlock in the 20th minute.

Gertrude Amoafo slotted home from the spot after Afia Nyarko was fouled inside the penalty box in the 45th minute.

In the second half, Pearl Boamah scored in the  68th minute to put Kumasi Sports Academy in the lead.

Nasara Ladies pushed for the equaliser but the game ended 2:1 in favor of Kumasi Sports Academy, leaving Nasara Ladies at the bottom of the table with no point.

Elsewhere, Abdul Rahman Safia’s corner kick found Karima Abdulah who headed home the opener for FC Savannah in the 7th minute.

Asana Ibrahim added the second goal in the 32nd minute to give FC Savannah a two goal advantage at half time.

Ziporah Ayantoya scored a delightful goal from the edge of the box after Mercy Akelvoa was fouled few metres from the 18 yard box.

FC Savannah were reduced to 10 players as Safia Bakari was shown the marching order for a dangerous tackle on Ziporah Ayantoya in the 53rd minute.

In the 92nd minute, an own goal from Kunkua Ladies’ Mavis Atia in an attempt to clear the ball handed FC Savannah a 3:1 win.
