Ghana midfielder Forson Amankwah says his move to Norwich City has fulfilled a lifelong ambition of playing in England.
The 22-year-old joined the Championship side from Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg last summer, and he admits the experience has lived up to expectations.
“It was a great feeling to play in England. A lot of football players want to play here,” Amankwah told Flashscore. “The league is tough r;eally physical and more intense.
In Austria, it was also intense, but the physicality here is different. It’s my first year, so I will get used to it.”
One of his standout moments came in February, when he came off the bench to score a decisive goal against Coventry City ; a strike later nominated for Norwich’s Goal of the Season.
“My best moment was scoring against Coventry. I’d been injured and not playing much, so to come in and win the game for the club was special. I think the fans really loved that moment,” he said.
After making 21 appearances in his debut season, Amankwah hopes to play an even bigger role for the Canaries in the upcoming campaign.
