Former Ashantigold forward Saddick Adams, has bemoaned the lack of quality players in the Ghana Premier League this term.
Adams comment comes after Chris Hughton did not invite any home-based player in the Betpawa Premier League in his 25-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola.
The absence of players on the local scene has generated conversations about the quality in the country.
Speaking in an interview on Accra-based radio station Radio Gold, he said: “Sometimes the kind of players our clubs recruit into the senior side, it is also not helping our league and so that is the most important thing that is happening.
“Maybe they have the money to buy the quality players but they will rather use the money to buy the quantity of the players. That’s making the league not have much quality, we have quantity but not much quality players,” he added.
The 33-year-old currently playing in the Bangladesh league with Arambagh.
Ghana will play Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium on March 23 before travelling away for the return leg four days later in Luanda.
