Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Akuffo says head coach Abdul Karim Zito is the right man to take the Porcupine Warriors forward.
Kotoko endured a difficult outing at the just-ended GHALCA Top 4, finishing bottom without a single point.
Despite that setback, Akuffo believes Zito has what it takes to deliver success.
“It’s a big plus for the team when you look at what Karim Zito did with Dreams FC in the CAF Confederation Cup.
“So when his name was mentioned for Kotoko, I didn’t see anything wrong because I’ve known him since childhood,” he told Radio Gold.
“Giving the job to him will help transition Kotoko into something different. Last season was very difficult, but when he came, he changed certain dynamics, and at the end of the day, the team won laurels.”
Zito, who replaced Prosper Nartey Ogum midway through last season, guided Kotoko to the MTN FA Cup, President Cup, and Toyota Cup.
