Newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Hohoe United are nearing the appointment of former Hearts of Oak assistant coach Rahim Bashiru as their new head coach for the 2025/26 season.
The team had been searching for a replacement for Osei Shaibu, who doesn’t meet the licensing requirements for the top flight.
Although other coaches were initially considered, including Bismark Mensah and Prosper Narteh Ogum, Bashiru is now the top candidate.
With experience managing Legon Cities and Young Apostles, Bashiru is expected to bring stability and guidance to Hohoe United.
The team earned promotion to the Premier League after topping Zone Three of the Division One League.
An official announcement confirming Bashiru’s appointment is anticipated soon, and he’ll be tasked with preparing the team for the upcoming season.
Bashiru’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen Hohoe United’s chances in the Premier League.
