Former Ghana U-17 international Gabriel Leveh has joined Belgian lower-division club KEWS Schoonbeek-Beverst, taking the next step in an attempt to revive his football career after a period away from the spotlight.
The 26-year-old midfielder has signed for the Belgian side alongside fellow Ghanaian Jelil Laminu. Their arrivals form part of KEWS Schoonbeek-Beverst’s preparations for the upcoming season as the club strengthens its squad.
Leveh’s move gives him the opportunity to return to competitive football and rebuild the momentum he developed during the early stages of his career. The versatile midfielder has spent some time out of the public eye, but his return to Belgium offers a fresh start in familiar surroundings.
Before joining KEWS Schoonbeek-Beverst, Leveh represented Tema Youth and Belgian club Genk. His spell with Genk allowed him to continue his development after he had established himself in Ghana’s youth football system.
Leveh’s most notable international experience came with the Ghana Black Starlets at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India. He was part of the squad that represented Ghana at the tournament, gaining valuable exposure on the international stage while still a teenager.
That involvement marked an important stage in Leveh’s development and highlighted the potential he had shown in Ghana’s youth setup. Almost a decade later, his move to KEWS Schoonbeek-Beverst provides the former youth international with another chance to play regularly and work his way back into the spotlight.
The Belgian lower divisions will now provide the setting for Leveh’s return, with the midfielder looking to make an impact at his new club after joining the squad ahead of the forthcoming campaign.
