Former Ghana U17, Asante Kotoko & Hearts of Oak player Emmanuel Yartey passes away

Former Ghana U17 Player Emmanuel Yartey passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 in Accra after battling with a long illness.

Yartey was a member of the Black Starlets squad that played in the Africa U17 Cup of Nations which was staged in Bostwana in 1997.

He played for Okwawu United FC before moving to Asante Kotoko SC where he helped the Club to win some domestic titles.

He later joined Accra Hearts of Oak SC in 1999 and was an outstanding member of the Hearts team that won the CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup in 2000 and 2001 respectively.

In line with Islamic traditional customs and beliefs, the late player will be buried on Wednesday in Accra.
