Former Ghana head coach, James Kwesi Appiah has tossed his hat in the race for the vacant national team job.
The 61-year-old tactician has a wealth of experience having held the role on two separate stints.
After serving as assistant coach between 2007 and 2012, Appiah was appointed as head coach in 2012, qualifying the Black Stars for both the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2014 World Cup.
He led the country to a fourth place finish at the continental showpiece in South Africa before overseeing a shambolic World Cup campaign in Brazil where Ghana failed to make it past the first round.
His second spell as head coach of the Black Stars started in 2017 and ended after Ghana suffered a Round of 16 elimination at the 2019 Afcon finals in Egypt.
Ghana is currently without a coach after Otto Addo vacated the position following the expiration of his contract at the end of December.
“The fact that I have not come out to say I have stopped coaching if the opportunity comes and I can help why not.
“Once coaching is my destiny if I’m approached and I can help why not,” Coach Kwesi Appiah said in an interview with Dan Kwaku Yeboah TV .
