Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has thrown his weight of support behind new Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton.
The former Brighton & Hove manager took charge of the role which vacated by Otto Addo after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Hughton era begins with the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifiers against Angola this month.
He is expected to name his squad for the doubleheader in the coming days.
The 64 year old trainer had been the technical advisor of Ghana since February 2022.
“I mean we all know Chris Hughton, who has coached a lot of clubs in the UK,” Appiah told Citi Sports.
“He came to Ghana and was part of the team that travelled to Qatar for the World Cup. He was the director then and now he is the coach.
“We are all hoping that, we will rally our support behind him and he will bring our Black Stars back from where we use to see the Black Stars.”
