Former Asante Kotoko striker Abdul Fatawu Safiu set for club return

Former Asante Kotoko striker Abdul Fatawu Safiu is set to return to the club ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The 29-year-old is currently without a club after ending his stay with Iraqi side Al-Sinaa SC in June 2023.

According to report, the Ghanaian forward is willing to rejoin the Porcupine Warriors and has engaged in an advanced talk with the leadership of the club.

Fatawu Safiu is expected to arrive in Ghana next week to seal his return to the record Ghana Premier League holders.

The forward played a pivotal for the Porcupine Warriors during the 2019/2020, where the club sealed CAF Confederations Cup group stage berth.

He was an integral member of the member of the Kotoko squad under coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor.

The experienced striker departed Kotoko to join Swiss club Trelleborg in August 2021 after explosive display during his spell with the Ghanaian giants. He later joined FC Trollhättan before his spell in Iraq.
