In a recent interview with Radio 360, former Aduana FC Chief Executive Albert Commey has raised concerns about the repeated legal actions taken by Alhaji Grusah and his club, King Faisal, against the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Commey argues that unless strict sanctions are imposed, Grusah will continue to engage the GFA in court battles.
King Faisal, under the leadership of Alhaji Grusah, has been involved in a series of legal disputes with the GFA. Their most recent legal move was seeking an injunction against the 2023 GFA Elective Congress, citing concerns about the roadmap. However, this injunction was dismissed by the court after the congress had already taken place.
Prior to this, King Faisal FC had filed a petition with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding their relegation from the Ghana Premier League. They sought to be awarded three points to avoid relegation, claiming double player registrations by their opponents. CAS ultimately upheld the GFA’s initial decision.
Albert Commey expressed his discontent with these ongoing legal battles between King Faisal FC and the GFA, suggesting that the association has been too lenient and should consider more severe sanctions.
Commey emphasized, “Alhaji Grusah, for years, has taken the FA to court, and in my opinion, they have been lenient with him. They need to expel his club from the association.”
