Flamengo defender David Luiz offered to Inter –

Flamengo and former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz has been offered to Inter, although they are lukewarm on the prospect of signing him.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 35-year-old has been proposed as a stopgap solution and an experienced option to add depth to the Nerazzurri’s backline.

Luiz’s contract with Flamengo is set to run out at the end of December, and the Brazilian would be keen on a return to European football even before then.

The Nerazzurri are one of the teams who his representatives are most interested in securing a move to as the style of play could suit the veteran Brazilian defender, whilst the departure of Andrea Ranocchia on a free transfer earlier this summer means there is a vacancy in his position.

However, Inter’s response has not been overly positive, and they are not currently thinking of a move for the 35-year-old.
