Ghana has maintained its 76th position in the latest FIFA rankings despite securing a win over Trinidad and Tobago in May’s Unity Cup.
The Black Stars had previously moved up from 77th to 76th after securing crucial victories over Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
The Black Stars occupy the 76th position globally, making no improving from their previous 76th spot, which they had held since April 2025.
This positive shift comes on the back of Ghana’s performance in the 2025 Unity Cup building on their winning start to the 2025 calendar during the last international break.
The Black Stars secured crucial victory over Trinidad and Tebogo despite losing narrowly to Nigeria in the four-nation tournament which happened in England in June.
Ghana’s recent success has seen them move above Montenegro, who have dropped three places in the latest rankings.
Ghana’s position in the African rankings also remains unchanged, as they continue to sit 14th on the continent.
Head coach Otto Addo will be aiming to further boost the team’s ranking when they return to action later in the year.
Ghana will be before facing Chad and Mali in Matchday 7 and 8 of the World Cup Qualifiers in September.
