Dutch giants Feyenoord are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Ghanaian left-back Ebenezer Annan from Red Star Belgrade.
The 22-year-old has impressed scouts in recent weeks, with Feyenoord officials attending several of his matches in Serbia.
Annan, who once played for Italian side Bologna, has featured prominently in Red Star’s title-winning campaign, making 14 league appearances this season.
His form has attracted interest across Europe, but Feyenoord now look favourites to seal a deal.
According to reports in Serbia, the reigning Eredivisie champions are ready to submit a £2 million offer, which Red Star are expected to accept.
Scottish side Rangers were also said to be keen, but appear to have fallen behind in the race.
Feyenoord are looking to bolster their defensive depth ahead of next season’s Champions League campaign, and see Annan as a long-term investment.
Capped twice by Ghana, Annan is considered one of the country’s brightest prospects in his position.
A move to the Netherlands could provide the young defender with the platform to further develop and attract attention on a bigger stage.
