FC Samartex Presidet, Richard Nsenkyire has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to take on Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic in the upcoming CAF Champions League preliminary round.
The Ghanaian Champions will host Raja at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 15, 2024, before traveling to Morocco for the second leg.
Despite being debutants in the competition, Samartex is “unmoved” by Raja’s three-time African champion status.
“We are not moved by names, if it is only names, we would not be where we are,” he told JoySports.
“Nobody gave us a chance when we went to Douala [against Victoria United] but we were able to secure victory and secure victory here [Accra] as well and I can promise Ghanaians that they are going to see football from us.
“We are focused, we are doing our normal training. We are going to take it game by game, it is also another football game. He said.
The “Timber Boys” have an imminent task of facing Nsoatreman FC in the Champion of Champions clash on August 31.
