Ghana Premier League side FC Samartex 1996 have unveiled their latest acquisition, securing the services of defender Samuel Mensah Tetteh on a permanent contract.
The seasoned right-back has joined the ranks of the Timber Boys, making the switch from Tema Youth FC, bringing with him a wealth of experience garnered from his time in the Division One during previous seasons.
In an inaugural move for newly appointed head coach Nurudeen Amadu, who assumes the reins from Annor Walker, now with Great Olympics, Tetteh becomes the club’s first signing.
Samartex is strategically bolstering their squad in preparation for the upcoming season, with aspirations of competing at the highest echelons and securing a coveted place in the top four by the conclusion of the 2023-24 season.
During their debut in the Ghanaian top-flight, the Samreboi-based team clinched the 10th spot with a commendable 46 points accrued from 34 matches.
The impending 2023-24 season kickoff will see Samartex commence their campaign at their home turf against Aduana Stars. All eyes will be on Tetteh, as he is anticipated to make his competitive debut in that game.
“We are delighted to unveil our latest signing, Samuel Tetteh, as our new right-back. Samuel brings with him a wealth of talent and experience, having previously played for Division One side, Tema Youth FC. His arrival bolsters our defensive capabilities and adds a new dimension our team” a club statement read on Wednesday.
