Lazio will take on FC Midtjylland in the Europa League this weekend with both clubs so far struggling on the domestic fronts in the 2022/23 season as both also come into this with contrasting results from the opening week of European action.

Maurizio Sarri – although a fan favourite with some of the Lazio faithful – continues to struggle to win over everybody in Rome with the Italian seeing his side sitting seventh in Serie A and with not that much to shout about after a handful of games in the new season.

Sarri did guide his men to a famous victory over one of the title favourites, Inter Milan, as Pedro, Felipe Anderson, and Luis Alberto were all amongst the goals that day at the Stadio Olimpico.

What’s more, with just the one defeat to Napoli in all competitions, despite the league position, they have been tough to beat this campaign.

Napoli did end up strolling past Lazio that day, but with a victory against Hellas Verona over the weekend, they have now made it two wins from two after also succeeding in their Europa League opener against Feyenoord.

Ciro Immobile was amongst the goals once again for his club against Verona, as he scored his third goal of the Serie A season, before Alberto bagged a second for him this campaign.

Against Feyenoord, the Italian side ran riot in Rome that day and Sarri will be disappointed that his side managed to concede two goals towards the end of the game after previously leading the match 4-0.

Anderson scored again that day, as did Alberto, while Matias Vecino managed to bag a brace in the game as well. Moreover, Lazio saw eight shots on target in total in that game in what was a fantastic performance from the Serie A giants.

As for Midtjylland, they are struggling in the early stages of the Danish Superliga, just like they did last time out. The club are currently sitting eighth in the table right now with just two wins from the nine games so far. At the same time, they have stunningly managed to concede 16 goals and score the same amount too.

Forebet predicts a win here for Lazio, as it seems like their attacking qualities are just too strong for the Danish side. What’s more, their defence is slowly improving and Forebet predicts a win here for Lazio with the game expected to see over 2.5 goals.
