FC Epiphany Warriors make Women’s FA Cup history with semi-final appearance

FC Epiphany Warriors continued with their fairytale run in the Women’s FA Cup after setting a new record as the first Division One League side to qualify for the semi-final of the Cup competition.

FC Epiphany Warriors grabbed a 2-1 win over Jonina Ladies in the quarter-final to break the eight-year record. The semi-final of the Women’s FA Cup has always been dominated by elite clubs since the competition began in 2016 when Police Ladies lifted the title.

FC Epiphany Warriors kicked off their campaign with a walkover in the Round of 64 after Anlo Ladies failed to show up for the clash. The Greater Accra Regional champions beat Blessed Ladies 2-0 in the Round of 32 before recording a 2-1 win over Premier League side Sea Lions in the Round of 16 to set the stage for a quarter-final berth with rivals Jonina Ladies.

FC Epihany Warriors then disciplined Jonina Ladies 2:1 at the Auntie Aku Astro Turf to clinch this noteworthy achievement. The team is scheduled to take on Premier League giant, Army Ladies in the semi-final with eyes on the coveted trophy.
