Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda says he is treating recent â??derogatoryâ?? comments made by Orlando Pirates coach Roger De Sa as a challenge.
The Buccaneers coach has declared the first choice Black Stars goalkeeper as his no.3 â?? behind Senzo Meyiwa and Brighton Mhlongo.
But the clubâ??s Technical Director Stanley Chabalala has come out to dismiss the coachâ??s comments by insisting the Ghana international was acquired from AshantiGold at the start of the season to become the first choice at Pirates.
Dauda who is yet to play a game for the South African giants this season however says he is not bogged down by the comments of his coach but is rather inspired to prove him wrong.
â??I welcome the coachâ??s comments as a challenge,â? he told Metro FM.
â??A clear example is when we were going to the Nations Cup where I was deemed the no.3.
â??But I was able to fight to keep the post for Ghana and this serves as a source of inspiration for me.
â??But the coach has been made aware that his comments do not reflect the actual situation on the ground.
â??I will leave it at that and concentrate on meeting this challenge head-on.â?Â
Dauda joined Pirates in August but was unable to play for the side in their CAF Champions League campaign as registration for the competition by the time of his signing had elapsed.
