FAB G6 TOURNEY: Wa All Stars deputy coach Sokpari happy with side’s performance

Deputy coach of Wa All Stars Abubakar Sokpari has lauded his side’s performance in the FAB G6 Tournament despite exiting the competition.

The Ghana League champions lost their second group game to Asante Kotoko and exited the tournament but the deputy coach says he is impressed with his boys.

“We decided to play the experimental side to give them some experience.

“You know our senior team is camping in Accra, like we did last season, ahead of our defense of the Ghana Premier League and playing in Africa. We have very little time to do that so we decided to give the young players a chance to ensure that they benefit from this experience and stake a claim for first team positions when the regulars are not in form, injured or suspended” Sokpari tokd Class FM.

“As you saw in the two games, the young lads gave a very good account of themselves and showed the world that they are good enough to get some minutes ahead of the new season,” he added.

Wa All Stars faced the tournament with entirety new players as the senior side prepares for the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League, the CAF Champions League and the FA Cup competitions.
