Ghana attacker Jordan Ayew has left French giants Olympique Marseille to sign for fellow Ligue 1 side Lorient FC, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.Â
The 22-year-old has penned a deal that could keep him at the Stade Yves Allainmat – Le Moustoir until 2018.
Jordan opted to join Lorient after manager Sylvain Ripoll assured him he has a place for him in his squad for the upcoming season.
A host of clubs including German pair Schalke 04 and Borussia Monchengladbach, West Bromwich Albion and Hull City were all linked with a move for the attacker who played for Ghana at the 2014 World Cup.
However, Lorient landed him after successfully reaching a deal for with Marseille who declared the player surplus to requirement.
Jordan, third son of African football legend – Abedi Pele, spent six and half seasons at Marseille and scored 14 league goals in 112 appearances.
However, a loan spell at Sochaux last season saw him grab five Ligue 1 goals in 17 outings.
