Former Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyeman Badu has urged Black Stars players who are currently unattached to sign for clubs in the Ghana Premier League.
The former Udinese midfielder has joined Great Olympics ahead of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
Agyeman-Badu, a free agent decided to join the Accra-based side after turning down contracts from some clubs in Europe.
Speaking in an interview the FIFA U20 World Champion said it will be better for Black Stars players who have not retired to join Ghana Premier League clubs than just training alone at home.
“I think [to sign for GPL clubs] is a good option. If you think you haven’t stopped playing football and maybe you’re looking for some offers from outside and it’s not coming, you can’t just stay home and be rusty, or be home and train alone. It won’t help you, ” he told Joy Sports.
“Join a [PL] club – six months loan, there’s an option in January for the transfer window. Just keep yourself busy, help the players here to grow as well, and just move on with your life because our life is football.
“I am just appealing to them [to come]. Maybe some of my colleagues fear insults but you should be ready for everything. Come let’s enjoy ourselves and help the guys grow and make the league exciting.”
Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu, Lee Addy, Samuel Inkoom are the Black Stars players to have been registered by their respective clubs ahead of the new season.
